Euro - Arab Parliamentary Dialogue
Brussels 20-23 June 2002

At the kind invitation of the Belgian House of Representatives and in joint cooperation between the Parliamentary Association for Euro-Arab Cooperation and the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union , the Annual Conference of the Euro-Arab Parliamentary Dialogue is to be held in Brussels (Belgium) from 20 to 23 June 2002. The convening of the conference in the Belgian capital reflect the appreciation of Arab Parliamentarians of the positive stand taken by Belgium - on the official and the popular levels - vis-à-vis the Arab causes in general and the cause of the Palestinian people in particular .

Draft agenda
1. political cooperation:
a. The global peace process in the Middle East;
b. Prospects for the embargo imposed on Iraq and the need to respect international rules of law in order to reach stability in the Gulf region;
2. economic and cultural cooperation:
a. migrations in the Euro-Arab zone;
b. improving the agreements concerning economic and cultural cooperation between European and Arab countries.
